Tran Doan My Ngoc– Co-Founder

 

Ngoc - professional Vietnamese interpreter, seasoned educator, and lifelong advocate of Vietnamese culture and language. Over the past twenty years she has taught  Vietnamese bringing a mixture of academic depth and cultural richness to every learning experience.

 

Originally trained in English translation and interpretation, Jade holds a Bachelor’s degree in English Language and a Master’s degree in Project Management. She has taught English and Vietnamese at the university level, led academic programs across Vietnam, and is working as a certified interpreter serving clients across medical, educational, and community settings in the United States.

 

Ngoc's deep love for Vietnamese language and heritage has shaped her personal and professional life. She is driven by a desire to share the beauty, complexity, and soul of Vietnam. Her mission is to create welcoming, immersive language and travel experiences that connect people to Vietnam, its people, its places, and its spirit.

Erik Young – Co-Founder

 

Erik - passionate educator and language enthusiast who has been studying the Vietnamese language for more than twenty years. Erik holds a degree in Vietnamese Language and Literature from The University of Education, Hồ Chí Minh City and has lived and worked extensively in Vietnam. 

 

A decade lecturing at RMIT University Vietnam and volunteering with refugee education programs in Southeast Asia, reflects Erik’s deep-rooted commitment to cross-cultural understanding and immersive learning.

 

Through Trek Viet, Eric combines his expertise in instructional design with his love for Vietnam to give you transformative language learning — in the classroom and on the ground.

 

Whether guiding learners through the nuances of Vietnamese grammar or leading culturally rich tours through bustling cities and serene countryside, Erik’s mission is to share the beauty of Vietnam and the joy of the language with others
